YOU ARE Greatness

The word "GREAT", overall, is not a powerful word. I mean, it's better than good, fine, or okay but still it is not powerful. However, "GREATNESS",  now that is a powerful word.

For example:
"You are a Great person"
or
"Your mom accomplished Greatness when she made you"

Which one would you rather hear? I'm sure we can all agree that the second sentence sounds much more satisfying. The definition of greatness is:
great·ness
ˈɡrātnəs/
noun

  1. the quality of being great, distinguished, or eminent.
    "Elgar's greatness as a composer"

Why is this relevant to Along Came Baby? Well recently I have been planning my wedding and Boy Has It Ever Been Stressful. Now don't get me wrong it is also very exciting. Nevertheless, planning EVERY SINGLE detail, song, guest book design, cake decoration, and etc., all-the-while dealing with how everyone else thinks I should plan My wedding, can sometimes make me want to rip my hair out.

I realize most of the stress of my wedding has come from the people I love the most. When people love you they want wants best for you and when you get married Those people think all Their ideas are what is best. Its no longer about what you may want your wedding to look like but what others think is right for you. (and sometimes whats right for them)

I FOUND MYSELF FEELING LIKE NONE OF MY DECISIONS WERE GOOD ENOUGH. Nothing I had to offer was great because all of my ideas were being shut down; and not just by anyone But By The Ones I Love The Most.  I wanted our wedding to achieve greatness and I felt like I was failing. Failing at making anyone happy, failing at being happy, and disappointing people.

Then I remembered something. An Idea Of GREATNESS, if you will.

I AM NOT GREAT BECAUSE OF WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT ME OR HOW THEY MAKE ME FEEL. I AM GREAT BECAUSE OF HOW I THINK OF MYSELF AND WHAT I KNOW TO BE TRUE.

I wanted to post about this specifically because I know there are so many people out there that really and truly need to know how great they are.

YOU ARE GREATNESS WRAPPED IN PERFECTION. It doesn't matter where you're from, what you've done, what size you are, what your hair color is, If you even have Hair or not, what mistakes you've made, who your married to. and the list goes on. NONE OF THOSE THINGS MATTER.

So no matter what your going through, what you've been through, what people say about you (even your loved ones or relatives), PLEASE REMEMBER THE CREATOR OF THE EARTH ACHIEVED GREATNESS WHEN HE MADE YOU. He thinks so and I think so.

Never forget who you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE GREATNESS!!!!!!!!

  1. I really liked this post, for some reason it reminds me of this post I read a while back (http://www.theemotionmachine.com/you-have-to-be-happy-before-you-make-someone-else-happy)
You have to be happy before you can make someone else happy, and being happy can start with the realization that you were made the way you are for a reason.

  2. I loved this post. I'm a big believer that being happy with/accepting yourself makes everything else in life so much easier. Relieves the pressure and expectations and allows you to just be your great self and do what makes you happy. Good luck with the wedding planning!

  3. I love this post because I was right where you were. Planning weddings can be stressful and they shouldn't be. The wedding itself isn't what's important. The important thing is the person you're sharing the rest of your life with. Marriage is such a beautiful thing. I love what you said because God created each and everyone different and great in our own way!
